Slower Firefox page loading on Ubuntu v. Windows

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions. Disabling ipv6 in
Firefox did it for me. I did not have to change anything in
/etc/modprobe.d/aliases or change anything in /etc/resolv.conf. Some of the
posts that were pointed out in this thread suggested that you needed to do
more than just change the Firefox settings but that's all that was necessary
for me.
