I had the same problem with updating firefox. then i completely removed
firefox, uncommented backports and installed the new version. But it
will not start. If I try it in a shell nothing happens. and if I start
it from kde it takes long to open a window and it fails. (no new
windows is opening)
If I run the command as root in a shell I get the following output.
root at venusfalle:~ # mozilla-firefox
You should really not run firefox through sudo WITHOUT the -H option.
Anyway, I'll do as if you did use the -H option.
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
(firefox-bin:11159): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
root at venusfalle:~ #
Does anybody have an idea?`Can anybody help me please?
