firefox 1.0.7-0ubuntu0.1_i386 update error

Looks like I got exact same problem.



Aptitude showed me I had both firefox and mozilla-firefox installed. I
know I had an earlier backports install that gave me problems because
of the name change.



I just fixed this situation by:



Commenting out the backports repository

sudo aptitude remove firefox (failed)

sudo aptitude remove firefox (succeeded but took blam with it)

sudo aptitude remove mozilla-firefox

sudo aptitude install mozilla-firefox



Not the best way to do it, I'm sure! But worked for me.



Had a similar problem with gf's laptop, but I didn't write down what
exactly happened.
