Network Manager and KDE

Run "nmapplet" - that's all there is to it.  

I uninstalled it after a day, though, because on its second or third attempt
to figure out what I was connected to it got _everything_ wrong (I had no
"lo" interface, I was on a wired connection but it didn't get an IP for
eth0 and it _did_ assign a completely bogus IP to the unusable wireless
connection).  I'm sure it got that from _some_ configuration information,
somewhere, but I can't find any documentation.
