Sorry I had to finish something at work just now.  I am getting ready to
try it: 
1)  fdisk /dev/sda   (not sda3 right?)

then do: 
2)  mkfs.ext3  /dev/sda(whatever number it got moved to)

Right? 

I need to back up my data on / and /home before a possible disaster
happens...
