no, i think that's unfair
i already had my mind set on going to linux
and of all the distros i was familar with, i was interested most in
ubuntu
but i had to make sure that it would be ok with my system
generally i find it comes with all the software i'll ever need
though i just needed to make sure it met these needs
my very last problem to overcome is compatibility with my
printer/scanner
but i assume that if ubuntu is going to be a pain, it won't matter
which distro i choose, i'll still have problems
i'd like to sit it out for a while and see if a driver does become
available
i'd also like to look further into turboprint and perhaps talk to a few
people who have used it
i'll have to wait anyway, because i want the 64-bit kernel option
coming in 5.10
i have a G5 powermac and i hear the 64-bit kernel is more suited to my
machine as its 64-bit hardware
