Breezy - Boot hang while at "Checking battery state"

Hi,

I'm running Breezy on Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop. After an apt-get
dist-upgrade a few days ago, it doesn't boot into X anymore. The boot
hangs at "Checking battery state... scheduler.....rg...".

If I go into other tty and do "startx", it will start normally. Any
hints??
