KDE on Ubuntu Hoary and related question

[Art Alexion]

I tried to install KDE on my Ubuntu Hoary (not Kubuntu) and it installed
fine, but unresolved dependencies won't let me install k3b (which was
one of two reasons for installing KDE) and no sound (/dev/dsp already in
use).  Help?
