adding identities in evolution

kind of OT, but how do you add different email addresses you can choose
from when composing a message in evolution? the only way i've found is
by adding a new account for each identity and setting the incoming mail
server to 'none', but then the option to specify which folder to stick a
copy of the sent mail into is disabled and everything winds up going
into the local folder. setting up your SMTP info over and over again is
also a lot of work just to add an identity. is there some way around the
sent mail problem, or is there some easier way to set up identities that
i'm missing?
