yeah, it's a bootsplash type thing.  It looks sweet. :)

If it's not showing up, you probably just need to do

  dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-<version of kernel you're running>

so it'll rebuild the initrd image to include it.  If you've installed a
kernel since you installed usplash, it should be working already.
