That's a feed reader, or RSS aggregator. News readers are more like mail
clients, for Usenet news forums.
To Kipton: Pan and KNode are the two main options. Thunderbird also does it,
as others have mentioned. A fourth option is to install a usenet/email
gateway, which will allow you to send and receive news from an email program.
