Just simply typing the command gives you the list of available ways to send
something to the phone's filesystem, messages thru the phone or get anything
from the phone's filesystem.

Also found a great webpage for help in using the tool, check it out here:

<URL:http://www.hendrik-sattler.de/scmxx/manpage/scmxx.en.html>

Using one of the example commands with options I was able to retrieve the whole
phonebook contact entry list with a USB connector from my S55.

I have enabled universe on Hoary, but couldn't find .deb packages for that.
However, I compiled from source and the GUI works, but not flawlessly. For
instance, I couldn't see the actual text in SMS messages, just phone numbers and
time received etc.

The author does state that he's tested the sw only on a S45. Perhaps there's
some changes in the phones' firmwares that does this, I dunno.

But yeah, overall, that stuff works. Will look into gnokii also, as the manpage
suggests that it's been tested and approved on my S55 too, which is interesting
enough. In general I've been quite pleasantly surprised how well many features
work between the laptop and the mobile phone, only bluetooth file transfer
hasn't given hints on what gives, but gnome-phone-manager sends and receives SMS
messages no prob, thru bluetooth connection.

Hope this helps at least a bit.
