K menu

Hi

I installed Ubuntu and added the kde packages. Questions: 

      * When I try to edit the K-menu, either as a user or as root, the
        itemsI add do not show up in the menu. What is the location of
        these menus under Ubuntu 
      * my crossover programs do not show up 
      * how can I convert evolution mails and calendar to kontact?
