Dcraw (segfault)

Using dcraw, a tool to read RAW format digital camera images and convert
them to ppm format, installed from the Hoary (universe) packages I get a
segfault on trying to read any .cr2 image downloaded from my Canon EOS
350D. Using dcraw built from the upstream sources there is no problem.

Does anyone out there have a feel for whether this is a problem with the
Hoary packages or just that the version in Hoary predates the camera
model (Feb 2005) and handles that fact gracelessly?

James

P.S. I get the segfault on both x86 and powerpc.
