cfdisk not working (SATA issue?)

Hi All,

I just installed Hoary on my new IBM T43. Everything has worked as expected
(i.e. brilliantly), including a dual-boot with WindowsXP SP2. At install
time, I intentionally left some unpartitioned space at the end of the drive
with the intent of creating a FAT partition so as to be able to share
documents between Windows and Ubuntu. However, when I run `cfdisk', I get an
error:

FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive.
Press any key to exit cfdisk.

This may be because the machine has a SATA hard drive, which has been
detected as a SCSI drive (apparently this is normal because SATA support in
Linux right now is.. weird).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Below is some output that might be
helpful. If any other information is available, let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.
