thanks, it works using this... but recently i have been having a
problem... i have a 1.25GHz powerbook with OSX and ubuntu, the day
after i started using the OSX partition in ubuntu, my screen has
started showing a lot of grass... it shows up both in ubuntu and OSX
despite rebooting and changing the display several times... (by grass
i mean a lot of green dots on my screen) i am sure it is a software
problem and not a hardware problem such as display getting wonky. i am
at a loss of how to rectify this problem... any solutions please ...
should i reformat my computer and reload both OSX and ubuntu?

i am at a total loss and feel a lot of pain ( :)) ) seeing my screen...

thanks a lot
praveen
