Changing the start up logo of Ubuntu 5.10

hmm, this would prolly be a shot in the dark, but why don't you install
the usplash package that comes with Ubuntu and not Kubuntu? maybe check
the /etc/apt/sources.list and see if it says ubuntu or kubuntu.
Again this is a guess so I'm not 100% certain that this might work :)
