iMac Resolution Issue

I remember your post now (since you're cross-posting to a list we get
to delete your original posts... thanks GMail for saving my trash :-).

I've included the WHOLE of your original posts so others so inclined
may be able to skim it and help you.

A quick look-see suggests to me that your xorg.conf file is improperly
configured with respect to resolutions. You need to have a 1024*768
entry and all I see is 800*600. You could manually edit it (make sure
you have a back-up coopy of the sort-of-working xorg.conf file) or run
the xFree86config utility (or whatever it is called under Xorg ;-)...
I'm sure others here could help or perhaps a "man x.org" might tell
you).
