How to use "deborphan" and "debfoster"?

One of the two programs you mentioned can be used for filtering in
> synaptic. Don't ask me which one and how though...


UbuWu said in a comment to the above article that with deborphan installed,
you can set up a filter for orphaned packages in Synaptic. I can confirm
this.
