kdesktop_lock does not accept password -- solved

The problem is solved now. /etc/shadow was not readable by the shadow group.
-rwxr-sr-x 1 root shadow 14988 2005-09-12 20:12 /sbin/unix_chkpwd
before:
-rw-r----- 1 root root 903 2005-10-20 13:39 /etc/shadow
after:
-rw-r----- 1 root shadow 903 2005-10-20 13:39 /etc/shadow
