crackling audio - mythtv

My crackling audio is local, not a network stream.

It gets worse. I tried every audio system available and alsa seems to work 
best which is what mythtv recommends. After changing the audio system several 
times, my system locked up. I rebooted and now every app that uses my audio 
card or capture card segmentation faults and exists.

like the mp3 lib this is lame
