Mark,

My AMD64 box's /etc/apt/sources.list ONLY montions 'amd64' in the 'deb 
cdrom' line. All the 'deb html' lines have no indication in them about 
32 or 64 bit. That is the cause for my concern.

What does your /etc/apt/sources.list look like?

Below (please forgive the line wrapping) is my amd64 box's
/etc/apt/sources.list
