You should have tried editing menus in Gnome 2.10... ;)
When the menu system was changed after 2.8 the menu editing utility just
disappeared. If you'd ever tried editing by working directly on
the .desktop files, you'd know why everyone is rejoicing at the *return*
of user friendly menu editing...
