Swap partition: 1.27GB (automatically made by Ubuntu) with 512 MB Ram

In OOo 1.9.1290.1.ubuntu4 Fri Oct 7 18:39:57 UTC 2005
when Insert>Picture>Scan> Select Source:
everythings freezes (no mouse, no disk activity, no Ctrl Alt Del)
only possibility: the styop button (I do not like that!!)
when Insert>Picture>Request
a few seconds of diskactivity
after some time (minute?) the menu disappears and I'm back in Writer and can
go on
