dist-upgrade failed

Hi,

I have a friend who is a windows user. Some time ago I got him to
install hoary on his PC alongside WinXP, but he was not impressed and
hardly used it. Yesterday I proposed to upgarde to breezy, but during
dist-upgrade the process failed. So, once again he was not impressed.
What should I do, restart a dist-upgarde procedure or is there another
command I should run now, since some packages were already installed?
