g++ install issues

Hello, I am trying to install vmware using the
instructions posted here:

I have successfully used this link before and vmware
ran perfectly, this time however i am getting the
following errors from apt-get install in the terminal:

W: Failed to fetch
http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gcc-3.4/libstdc++6-dev_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_i386.deb
  404 Not Found


W: Failed to fetch
http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gcc-3.4/g++-3.4_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_i386.deb
  404 Not Found

I managed to get vmware installed by manually going to
this address and downloading the coresponding
"6ubuntu4_i386.deb" files, but now I am constantly
told about these two updates that I cannot get.

I am now being told that I need to run apt-get update,
but when I do I get the following:

W: GPG error: http://us.archive.ubuntu.com breezy
Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG

<ftpmaster at ubuntu.com>

Any ideas as to how to fix this?  Will the
"6ubuntu8_i386.deb" files be back?
