I've installed Ubuntu 4.10 and 5.04 just for a few days to take a look
at. Now I've switched to 5.10 because I needed something more
user-friendly for others who will use this PC and I must say that this
release is very impressive!

I just wanted to highlight some of the things that I really like:

Installation:

Manual LVM2 support: Thank goodness, I wouldn't have gotten very far
without it.

Hardware Detection: Superb. Far better than WinXP

Ubuntu Device Database HardwareID: I also like the feature of having a
hardwareID. This will be invaluable for tech support.

3d nVidia drivers automatically installed: Yay!

OoBE:

Excellent software selection. No spending hours switching CDs or
downloading. Everything you need is already installed or available in
the repo (with a few exceptions). It's ready to roll!

"Add Applications" very simple and user-friendly

Automatic downloading of automatic updates through preferences in Update
manager.

Case-insensitive file sorting in nautilus.

Project Utopia / Plug-it-in-and-use-it support is beautiful.

Server:
LAMPS is a breeze to setup. Very well thought out configuration layout.

I'm sure there are many other things that I have yet to discover, but if
there are any devs on the list, send my thanks out to the others!
