What happens when you unmute this element ^^^ ?

Barring that, please execute in a Terminal:

$ sudo invoke-rc.d alsa force-unload && sudo rm -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state && sudo modprobe snd-cs46xx

Then use your favorite mixer program to (un)mute the elements and to
adjust the volumes.
