My personal experience is that it is simplicity itself to upgrade from
Warty, through Hoary, and into Breezy.  I have done it myself just
recently using synaptic.  Mind you, it took a while on my dial-up
connection but it went smoothly, even despite numerous dropped
connections.  Synaptic just started right back where it had left off.
