I have got the packages : acpi, acpid, acpi-support and the in-kernel
support for ibm_acpi (http://ibm-acpi.sf.net), that's in kernel 2.6.10
by default. I have an IBM laptop.
I do get a speed up on the processor, because of my screensaver
(GLMatrix), but otherwise, it's pretty slient.
