Is it possible that you reached the limit of the hard drive?  I
remember reading somewhere that you should not fill hardrives up under
Linux as this causes some problem?  (Sorry to be vague, but I'm not
sure where I read it and I've never had this problem.)  Try googleing
on "harddrive full" or something like that under GoogleLinux.  I can't
remember the fix off hand, but I believe you have to delete some files
w/ a live CD if that's the problem.
