Recovering data from failed Maxtor One Touch II drive

Ok, I sealed the drive up in a plastic bag + loads of tape and then
put it in a tupperware container in the freezer (to avoid condensation
problems, if there are any).  I'll see whether it behaves tomorrow
morning.  If that doesn't work I'll try knocking it on something hard
and if THAT doesn't work, I'll investigate cheap data recovery.
