I know nothing about compiling all I do is use the version of Gimp
supplied with Ubuntu in conjunction with Turboprint. As far as I am
concerned, the prints I get are of a very good quality. Also, remember,
print quality is very much dependant on the inks and paper used. Cheap
materials tend to lead to poor prints.
