I use gnome-terminal for that. Just create profiles, and run
gnome-terminal a la 'gnome-terminal --tab-with-profile=profile0
--tab-with-profile=profile1" etc. I create a little script to initiate
ssh sessions to several servers, and launch it via an icon on the
gnome panel. I use keys to authenticate, so a single click handles
eveything.
