EPS is basically PostScript with minor differences - due to the fact
that it should be possible to include EPS file in other applications,
as one would include an image in a text document.

Thus:

-EPS file has "bounding box" information, which tells the image size

-some PostScript commands are not allowed in EPS - those that try to
affect global things like papersize

- EPS file may contain a small "preview" image in PICT or tiff format

See http://www.prepressure.com/formats/eps/fileformat.htm for details
