gdm Shutdown, Reboot missing

After installing kde and kdm I decided I prefered gnome and gdm.
So I reconfigured kde and picked gdm, but when I went back to gnome I
was still missing my shutdown and reboot options. So I tried
uninstalling kdm and kde-desktop(it forced it). Nope no change.

A solution was posted but it requires kdm to be used
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=52059
, I just want to restore gdm, can I just reinstall some gnome packages?
which ones contain the gmd shutdown/reboot provisions?

Thanks,
Alex
