VNC server port and VNC alternatives

I use tightvnc (www.tightvnc.com) to control my breezy boxes at home
from my XP office computer.  It works just fine--I don't have any
complaints.  You can also try this one suggested at the ubuntuguide.org

As far as the port I don't know what to suggest.  I'm not at my box
right now so I can't take a look.  Anyone else know?
