I occasionally see the same thing, although it only seems to occur once
every week or two. The problem appears to be that X is becoming
_completely_ wedged, as the mouse moves if I have the hardware cursors
enabled, but not if I have software cursors enabled. I also cannot
switch virtual-terminals, however I can ssh into my machine and see that
X is using 100% of the CPU. I haven't gotten around to installing the X
debug symbols to get a useful backtrace though.
