I've got an iRiver T30MX 1GB, and my wife has a Samsung YP-T6 1GB (see
http://www.hezmatt.org/~mpalmer/blog/general/my_new_love.html; it was mine
until she saw it, said "that's cute", and relieved me of it, so I bought the
iRiver). They both have similar feature sets (1GB storage, OGG support,
microphone recording, takes an AAA battery, very small), but the Samsung
looks a bit cuter and has an FM radio function.

Both devices work beautifully under Ubuntu (in fact, that's all either of
them have ever known).
