Install Questions

Please dont think Im stupid, Im just not educated (wink).
When cd to the directory with gruler I run ./configure and that works 
fine but then when I type make it says:
    make: *** No targets specified

I typed make gruler but that wasnt it either.
Am I supposed to specify a special file or what.
