I have a success story in this regard: I recently bought a new
(entry-level, a 2 MPixels Kodak EasyShare), and Breezy detected it right
out of the box and asked if I wanted to import the photos.

On the Windows XP box at work, however, I had to download a 25Mb program
for Kodak when I wanted to import some pictures; so for some cameras at
least, it's the other way around.
