Question about AMD64 and 64 bit installation

And of course, vice versa - if the OP can see a k7 kernel he's not got
the 64bit version of ubuntu installed.

Surely the k8s instruction/registers are a superset of the k7s, so that
a k8 in 32bit mode will be compatible with the k7 kernel?
