Hi All

Here is my problem in detail:
First thing I do is patching kernel with patches from latest
linux-patch-ubuntu package 2.6.12-10.24. After that I compile my kernel with
config based on config-2.6.12-10-686 where I change processor type to P3 and
some localization stuff. I don`t touch other things. For compilation I use
following command:

root at c3po:~ # make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version .c3po.6 kernel_image

In menu.lst I`m adding vga=0x317 to nonaltoptions param

# nonaltoptions=quiet splash vga=0x317

And then executing update-grub command. When I`m trying to boot my mernel
with this bootparams I`ve got blank screen until kdm starts. With kernel from
ubuntu everythings fine.

P.S.: I realy need custom kernel because I need some thirdparty kernel modules
