xorg i810 vs. nVidia nonfree or ATI on Ubuntu

I'm in the process of setting up a training room full of PCs that will
run Ubuntu Linux, either locally installed or via ltsp, depending on
situation.

For this, I can get a good deal on some PCs that come equipped with an
Intel Extreme video card (which I believe is supported by the i810
driver). These PCs will occasionally be used to support LAN parties
(I work at a pretty fun place right now). Our current setup involves
running UT on pretty old hardware running an old Red Hat version.

I'm familiar with running Ubuntu with nVidia nonfree. How should xorg
in Ubuntu behave with i810 vs. nVidia or ATI as far as gaming goes?
It doesn't have to be the world's best gaming system, but we'd like to
maybe play some more modern games than our old UT setup. I'd like to
know whether or not I'm shooting myself in the foot with these Intel
cards before I buy 16 systems with this hardware configuration.

Thanks for any info offered,
