Network Printer not responding

This was the first I had heard of hplip.
A little investigation led me to the command

hp-probe   -bnet

which returned nothing, but when I turned off firestarter it located lots on
network
printers in my organisation, but not mine.

I tried

hp-makeuri  as suggested, but the printer still will not print a test page.

I tried cups by directing my browser at http://localhost:631, but I needed a
password.
In any case, I suspect that it would not help.
As I said initially, the printer works under SUSE and Windows!
