FreeDOS/Ubuntu on HP laptops?

So I tried `sudo dpkg-reconfigure -a` and it didn't help at all.
So I just reformatted everything and reinstalled Hoary.

Then came my mistake of using Automatix.... now I can't use firefox at
all.

This is made doubly agravating because my windows XP pro configuration
was installed in one sitting in about 30 minutes, the couple of
additional drivers worked flawlessly... but I'll stop complaining since
it doesn't help any and if I'm so happy with windows XP why am I
spending days of  my life getting Ubuntu working..

Computers would be a real pain in the @$$ if they weren't so much fun
