Under *Window Selection*
   _Select windows when the mouse moves over them_ option is unchecked. 
So I am guessing, I am not using sloppy focus.

Yup, I am using Metacity, What do you mean by GNOME's standard WM? Is 
there others around? I mean other GNOME standard WMs !!!
