I have iFp-790 player also, but I'm using Breezy.

When I started using this player I first installed ifp-line package.

There where some problems with scandinavian letters, so I installed
newer ifp-line-libifp  package and with that there has been no
problems.



It seems that ifp-line-libifp  package is not available for Hoary, but
ifp-line package is.

As mentioned, that worked fine for me except those scandinavian
letters.
