networking problems - still

I am unable to ping anything on my network. When I look at the router config
(from another machine on my network) I can see my Linux but not ping it.
When I boot the Linux box into xp I can connect to the network and internet
without a problem ( I am doing so as I write this in fact). Someone
previously askes to see the output from dmesg, lsmod and lspci so they are
below. The only thing I heard was buy another nic card but that shouldn't be
necessary. This card works with xp and did work with the ubuntu live cd
before I installed to a partition on the HD (now neither ubuntu will connect
to the net). Some ideas please.
