alternate install method

Hello all, I'm looking for a way to install ubuntu with out being  
able to read the screen.  I'm blind and have a cleen machine where I  
want to install ubuntu.  Does ubuntu support anything like kickstart  
or install over ssh or telnet?  I do have access to another ubuntu  
system which I could use to make an install script if this is possible.
	After installing what is the prefered method of  telling ubuntu to  
boot to a command prompt instead of to the gnome desktop?
